Best of Pipe School: Spring Webinar Series : PART 2

Soils are a critical component of all construction projects and are important to all types of pipe installations. It is important to understand how the information found in various references and guides on soils relates to what might be seen on a project site, along with the importance of this information in pipe installations.

This presentation will cover:

1. Soil basics, terminology, and the importance of proper evaluation and construction;

2. Table 2 – USCS, AASHTO, and USDA comparison;

3. Compaction equipment, lift thicknesses, practices, and testing;

4. Quick checks in the field & lessons learned;

5. AASHTO #57 Aggregate;

6. Jobsite and excavation safety.

Concrete Pipe Week recognizes the significance that the reinforced concrete pipe and precast industry has in community quality of life, and affirms the contributions of the concrete pipe and precast industry to each State and Province.  It is a time we recognize the contributions of ACPA’s stakeholders, partners, and members for the helping build long-lasting, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure.

NOTE: All ACPA members are welcomed to attend the committee meetings--even if you are not currently on a committee!  Come learn about committee activities, meet members and leaders, and find the right committee for you. *Registration is FREE!*

Pipe School is the ACPA’s annual event where members, DOTs, consulting engineers, subject matter experts, and other industry personnel get together to discuss, learn, and engage with one another.  The school advances the industry by teaching classes on production, advanced production, and quality, while engaging with industry stakeholders to ensure that they are provided with information vital to their decision making process.

The ACPA's 2027 Annual Business Meeting will be March 21st-23rd, 2027, in San Diego, CA, at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort.  The meeting will consist of the Foundation's golf tournament, Board of Directors Meetings, Welcome Reception, Keynote Speaker, Committee Reports, Award and Member Appreciation Luncheons, and updates from ACPA staff.

The Annual Meeting is open to all ACPA members--both producers and associates--and spouses/guests may also attend for an additional registration fee.  Participation in the golf tournament is an additional fee for both member's and their spouses/guests.
